Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious collision involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle in Brant County that left an individual with serious injuries.
Police say the individual has been transported to a trauma center the investigation continues. Colborne Street East between Brant School Road and Jerseyville Road is currently closed for the investigation.
Earlier this month, OPP reported that motorcycle fatalities have been on the rise in 2024, including a “sharp increase” since July that saw 17 fatalities occur in that time, compared to 23 in that time during 2023.
OPP announced on Aug. 16 that aerial surveillance would be expanded to limit dangerous driving and fatalities.
Police say today’s investigation is being assisted by OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team and updates will be provided as they become available.
