Russell Village resident Julian Hunt has added his name to the list of candidates running in the Township of Russell’s by-election for councilor which will be held on September 30.
A primary reason for running is what he describes as a lack of representation by his youthful age group.
Hunt is concerned about population growth in the township, about the pace of development, and about the types of development taking place. He notes that while lots of homes are being built, there is little affordable housing, and prices for even modest homes are out of reach for most young families.
He has a tech background and has lived in Hudson, Vankleek Hill and Alexandria before he and his partner moved to Russell ten years ago.
