The Spirit of Potton Festival is back in the Municipality of the Townships of Potton with this year’s event embracing more of the area’s rural characteristics.
Unlike previous editions of the event, the volunteer planning committee wanted to bring more of “the country-life spirit” to this year’s festival and have people participate in activities that reflect the area’s rural lifestyle, explained Valérie Thérien, director of communications for the municipality and one of the festival organizers.
With this in mind, the committee thought about incorporating activities that are seen at country fairs around the Eastern Townships, noted Thérien. This led to the idea of developing a lawn tractor race and inviting Quinchien mobile animal farm as new additions to the festival.
Highlighting the significance of the festival, Thérien said that it’s the one time of the year where Potton residents gather to celebrate “what we have and who we are.” The festival takes place from August 16-17.
