It’s been one week since the Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) secured an injunction against climate protestors who led days of disruptions outside Trudeau Airport. Now, protestors from Last Generation Canada are calling for a meeting with airport leadership.
Last Generation Canada is calling for Canada to adopt a national firefighting agency and to sign the fossil fuel non-proliferation treaty.
The group was hit with a provisional injunction, barring future protest activities, after they glued hands to the road outside the airport and splashed pink paint on airport windows July 24-26, resulting in eight protestor arrests. A hearing for an interlocutory injunction is set for Aug. 9.
When reached by CKUT, an ADM spokesperson did not comment on the request for a meeting, but said that in general, “the right to demonstrate is still allowed on the airport site,” but without obstructing airport operations. They also expressed their “full intention to obtain a permanent injunction” against the group.
