Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) wants to know your experiences and perceptions about drinking alcohol.
Yesterday, they launched a survey for people 16 and older.
Anna Vanderlaan, manager of health promotion at WDGPH, says one of their mandates is to educate people about the risks of alcohol use and do that well, they need to understand what people think about drinking.
The Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction released Canada’s Guidance on Alcohol and Health last year, showing that drinking just three to six standard drinks per week increases your chances of developing some cancers like breast and colon cancer.
The survey also comes as the province relaxes rules around alcohol sales, allowing convenience stores to sell the products.
Vanderlaan explained they will be asking respondents where they buy their alcohol so they can measure if selling alcohol in convenience stores has an impact on peoples’ behaviours.
The survey closes September 4.
