One man is dead and four people are facing charges after the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in St. John’s were called out to a violent altercation near St. Clare’s hospital.
Police issued an earlier warning on Wednesday to residents in the area asking them to shelter in place. Cst. James Cadigan says officers found a man dead and are treating this as a homicide. Police took two women and two men into custody after communicating with occupants of the property. Details about the deceased individual will follow after notification of next of kin.
