Montreal has a new co-op business in Petite Patrie. Owned and operated by an all transfemme team, Co-op Agenda is a cafe and bookstore that doubles as a hub for the queer and trans community.
The team has big ambitions: in their second week since opening, the co-op is already offering a weekend brunch and a basket pickup with the queer-owned Ferme co-op aux champs qui chantent. Co-founder Judith Lefebvre says the team is looking to build up the co-op’s gallery and events space, while offering print media workshops and setting up offices next door.
CKUT stopped by the premises at 6692 Rue Saint Denis to learn more about the business and the transfeminist philosophy behind it.
