The Kingston Frontenac Public Library’s (KFPL) Isabel Turner Branch will be closing this fall for the building to undergo major renovations for accessibility and sustainability.
The Isabel Turner Branch is the busiest and the second largest of KFPL’s 17 locations.
Kristen Lemay, Manager of Projects and Strategic Initiatives with KFPL, explained in an interview with CFRC, “This branch has been an important community hub in the West End, and we’re really excited to revitalize this space to enhance accessibility and functionality. The Isabel Turner Branch was built in 1997, so it’s time to update important systems like the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system. In addition to these facilities upgrades, we will be refreshing the space, so you’ll be seeing some new furniture and carpeting as well.”
While renovations are completed, KFPL will continue serving the community from the Cataraqui Centre.
