The Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) has announced a commitment of $1 million in additional funding for scholarships administered by the Grand River Post Secondary Education Office (GRPSEO).
The commitment will see $50,000 annually contributed to the general scholarship fund for GRPSEO over the next 20 years.
In a July 29 media release, SNGRDC President and CEO Matt Jamieson spoke on providing this additional funding opportunity to Six Nations’ students.
“We are happy to further our commitment to education within Six Nations for the next 20 years alongside GRPSEO, knowing that this contribution will help pave the way for a brighter future for students of the Six Nations community.”
With this announcement, the SNGRDC’s post-secondary contributions over 20 years are at a total of $2.48 million.
GRPSEO was contacted for a comment but was unavailable ahead of publication.
