Skeleton Park Arts Festival (SPAF) is celebrating their volunteers with a concert tonight, this year with the added excitement of returning to pre-pandemic volunteer numbers.
SPAF has been running for 19 years, bringing Kingstonians to the neighbourhood each June to enjoy live music, browse the local artisan market, and community booths, all for free. In the festival’s third year back in-person post-pandemic, the neighborhood is still bouncing back.
Greg Tilson, SPAF Director, explains, “On a positive note, we’re back to the pre-pandemic volunteer levels …. I think a lot of festivals had trouble with that participation and engagement piece coming out of the pandemic, where it took a while for people to get back involved.”
The headlining act and longtime friends of SPAF, Toronto’s Moskitto Bar, will be appearing as a full seven piece band for the first time in the region.
The free event will kick off at 6 P.M. tonight at Next Church.
