An area restriction from Cranberry Creek to Shelter Bay remains in place as of Tuesday, July 23 due to the Dry Creek wildfire, which the BC Wildfire Service continues to list as out of control. The fire, which has grown to 249 hectares in size, is located 35 kilometres south of Revelstoke, and 2.5 kilometres west of the Shelter Bay Ferry terminal.
According to the BC Wildfire Service, an indirect attack strategy is being used as the Dry Creek wildfire originated in steep and inaccessible terrain and is not safe for crews to work on directly.
Stoke FM provides an update on wildfires in the area and how the community is being affected.
