The Community Training and Development Centre in Cobourg is receiving $723,035 from the province’s Skills Development Fund for a new cross-functional project.
Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development David Piccini, who is also the local MPP for Northumberland – Peterborough South, made the announcement Friday afternoon.
The new CTDC training program will be supported by experts across the health and social services fields, focusing on human development, understanding vulnerable populations, professional ethics and essential workplace skills.
The program is split into two components, including the training element that will involve learning from sector experts over a 20-day period through an online method.
That will be followed by work experience delivered by an employer from the health, social, or children’s service sector.
