The Save Lemoine Point Farm group (SLPF) has released a message, including a letter to council, due to concerns that the fate of the property have been discussed in a closed session ahead of last night’s council meeting.
Lemoine Point Farm has been in limbo since the passing of the previous owner in April 2022, and the city has expressed interest in acquiring the property. SLPF came together during this time to advocate for protecting the land and maintaining access to the public.
The agenda item listed in the closed portion of the meeting references a “waterfront property”, which SLPF believes could be the farm, prompting them to send the letter to council outlining the community backing for the cause and encouraging Kingstonians to show their support.
CFRC reached out to the city for comment on the agenda item and the letter, but information was not disclosed due to the closed nature of the meeting.
