An in-person open house for the Tewin subdivision project will be held at the Carlsbad Springs Community Centre on June 19 .
The project is a partnership between the Taggart Group of companies, which includes Tamarack Homes, and the Algonquins of Ontario. Public records indicate the project was rushed through Ottawa City Council, was opposed by the Algonquins of Kitigan Zibi, is still opposed by local residents, and developing the unserviced farmland and forested area was not recommended by city staff.
In nearby Russell Township, a petition with hundreds of signatures asks for amendments to the planned rec centre, causing the township’s special meeting to be postponed to June 17.
