The Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County is now offering free commissioning services to members of the 2SLBGTQI+ community.
Executive Director Stephanie Clendenning explained the commissioning is required when a person wants to change their name or gender marker on their official identification. She says they will be doing that in the form of a statutory declaration.
The Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County will be out in the community during Pride month to spread the word about the new service. They will be at Minto Pride in the Park this Sunday offering information and booking appointments. On June 10, they will be at the artBar in Guelph offering commissioning services to people who have their documents ready.
To book an appointment privately, visit the Legal Clinic’s website. The free commissioning services will be offered permanently at the clinic.
