Kingston’s historic Grenville Park Housing Co-op was the site of a heartwarming reunion as former residents gathered last weekend for two days full of nostalgia and memories.
The neighbourhood is Kingston’s first ever housing co-op. Founded in 1946, it was established on a 66 acre farm which, at the time, was two kilometres outside Kingston city limits.
The reunion, initiated by former resident Sue Chamberlain, brought over 100 former residents from across Canada, the United States, and even the United Kingdom back to the community in which they grew up. They also got to meet current members of the Grenville Park community.
Attendees enjoyed historic walks, storytelling, and met current residents, highlighting Grenville Park’s continued community spirit. Participants left the weekend with cherished memories and renewed connections.
