Centre Wellington is seeking public input on implementing paid parking in the Township.
Mayor Shawn Watters says the Township hired R.J. Burnside and Associates a year ago to develop a Municipal Downtown Parking Strategy. Results showed demand for parking in Elora will exceed supply in six years and demand for parking in Fergus will exceed supply in 17 years.
Watters says they need to be able to pay for a solution which could include a parking garage.
Residents are being asked to consider three options:
- Option One – No Paid Parking and maintain 3-hour parking enforcement.
- Option Two – Paid Parking for everyone and maintain 3-hour parking enforcement.
- Option Three – Paid Parking for visitors only and maintain 3-hour parking enforcement.
The survey is open until Sunday, June 23. To learn more, visit the Connect CW website.
