Nine Community Safety Zones in Wellington County will be getting automated speed enforcement to slow drivers down.
At Thursday’s county council meeting, councillors voted to enter into an agreement with Global Traffic Group to set up the photo enforcement cameras.
Coun. Jeff Duncan said for now the speed cameras will only be placed along roads within the County’s jurisdiction but local municipalities could have a chance to participate after the one year pilot program is complete.
There will be signage alerting drivers to the presence of the cameras and there will be a 90 day notice period before fines are issued to offenders.
