A portion of downtown Revelstoke was transformed into a fashion show runway for Birch and Lace’s annual Trashion show, held on May 25.
Usually held in April to celebrate Earth Month, this year’s show took place in partnership with another environmentally focused event, Revy Re-Fest.
The Trashion show featured 12 outfits and 15 participants, including both models and designers. Unlike previous years, this year’s show did not include a contest and no winner was announced. Kate Borucz, one of the organizers said instead the intention this year was to create an event where designers could showcase their outfits and the community could gather and enjoy the vibes of the Revy Re-Fest Weekend.
StokeFM sat down with Borucz to talk about the Trashion show, its history and how it helps to share the value of environmentalism with the broader community.
