The Great Lakes Museum is gearing up to host a launch party for the S.S. Keewatin this weekend.
The Titanic-era ship arrived in Kingston in October of 2023, and since then it has been undergoing renovations.
While the museum has already begun offering guided tours of the Keewatin, this event marks a milestone for the museum, inviting the public to celebrate the ship’s new home.
The launch party is scheduled for from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 at the Great Lakes Museum. The event will be free and open to the public, offering a sneak peek of the ship, live music, historical reenactments, and various activities. The museum plans to keep tours running until late fall.
