NL Premier Andrew Furey says there’s a promising future for the province especially with renewable energy.
The premier made the comments at addressing the Empire Club of Canada in Toronto yesterday. He says “in the current global climate of geopolitical uncertainty and an ever-growing demand for clean, renewable energy balanced with the need for lower carbon, more responsible oil, Newfoundland and Labrador has a unique position in Canada and indeed the world.” Moderator Tim Powers asked the premier what will happen in 2041 when the Churchill Falls hydro deal with Quebec expires. Furey says Quebec “will have to show him the money.”
