There’s a nearly 100 year old church on the Port au Port Peninsula in NL that is running in a national contest for $50,000 worth of renovations.
The Painted Lady Project initiative by Our Lady of Mercy Church is into its final days of voting, which ends May 6. Committee member Lynn MacDonald says this awe-inspiring building was built by a community of fishermen, farmers, and miners and turns 100-years-old next year. It’s the tallest standing wooden structure in the province. The contest is dubbed, “The Next Great Save” and is through the National Trust for Canada.
