Terrace Restorative Justice is launching a youth advisory committee for its new youth leadership program.
CFNR spoke with Alex Blum-Walker, program director, and Shochoy Fray, youth program director for Terrace Resorative Justice.
According to Blum-Walker and Fray, the Youth Leadership Program aims to support at-risk youth in the community and to address the over-representation of Indigenous and Black people in the justice system. The funding for the program comes from the Crime Prevention Action Grant, a federal grant.
The program will offer various summer activities and is working on partnering with other organizations to provide additional support for the youth.
The organization is reaching out to youth (ages 24 and under) through street outreach, schools, and other organizations. They are also open to partnerships and volunteers.
