Two west coast residents in Newfoundland and Labrador are facing drug charges after two separate traffic stops.
RCMP Cpl. Jolene Garland says the two vehicles were stopped by police on the Trans Canada Highway near Corner Brook on April 19. A quantity of drugs and cash were seized: 32-year-old Alicia Gilbert of Humber Valley Resort and 29-year-old Jonathan Park of Corner Brook were arrested.
Police had observed suspicious activity between the two vehicles and conducted two traffic stops. Gilbert had about $3000 cash. Park was in possession of approximately four ounces of cocaine. At Gilbert’s home, police found another four ounces of cocaine, an ounce of suspected crystal methamphetamine, thousands of dollars in cash, packaging materials and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking.
The two are set to appear in court at a later date.
