The City of Nanaimo has started a new project inviting those walking around Bowen Park to get a new perspective through poetry.
The Poetry in the Park project featuring Nanaimo’s Poet Laureate Kamal Parmar makes use of Smartphone-readable QR codes that have been placed throughout the park with links to five poems Parmar has written and recorded.
The poems highlight the beauty of nature and connect to it at a new level.
CHLY spoke with Parmar about the project and her passion for writing about the experiment. As well Parmar talks about why although the project just started the poems are all themed around the season of fall.
