It’s been nearly two weeks since a landslide in Corner Brook swept two people in the Humber River and led to the road being closed.
Geotechnical engineers are on site assessing the safety and stability of Riverside Drive since the April 1 incident.
Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says engineers are working in the area and it will probably be another 1-2 weeks before the dirt can be removed and the road opened. At this point, they’re unsure of the damage to the road underneath. CKVB spoke with the mayor about the situation, which has essentially cut off one exit for the city.
