World Energy GH2 is concerned there won’t be enough skilled labour when they are ready to begin construction on their wind-hydrogen project.
The provincial government released the company’s environmental assessment with 60 conditions attached. The company plans to erect hundreds of wind turbines along the southwest coast the production of hydrogen.
Managing Director and CEO Sean Leet says Project Nujio’qonik will create about 4,200 indirect jobs, 2,200 construction jobs, and 400 full time, permanent positions. He says there won’t be enough human resources.
Meanwhile, Immigration, Population Growth and Skills Minister Gerry Byrne disagrees. He says tradespeople living and working away may want to come home.
