Nearly $400,000 has been awarded to the Rotary Arts Centre (RAC) in Corner Brook.
Money will be used to develop a workforce with the hiring of an executive director and coordinator. Immigration, Population Growth and Skills Minister Gerry Byrne made the announcement at the RAC today.
This two-year investment will enable the RAC to focus more clearly on developing a cultural industry workforce and providing stronger support to local talent, according to the minister. There will also be three artists in residence for the next two years. Jerry Etienne, chairperson of the Rotary Arts Centre Board, says there is no denying Corner Brook has a lot of talent and this will up the ante at the RAC.
