Oddity shop and museum The Skull Store is in the process of moving from its current location to a new one.
The store specializes in the ethical procurement, display and sale of oddity items to share the story of human and natural history. Items for purchase at the store include minerals, fossils and statues. For those with deeper pockets a chisternon fossil turtle plate, for example, is for sale at $124,850.00 CAD.
And it’s not just a store. It’s also a museum. Ben Lovatt’s interest in wildlife preservation started even before he opened the shop. “Our education is very much focused on the threats animals face,” Lovatt explained. “We’d like to raise the alarm, but then show off ramps from the crisis.”
Currently located at 397 Dundas St. E, it will be moving to above Tokyo Smoke located at 333 Yonge St. because their current building being sold for condo development.
