Six Nations elected band council announced on Thursday March 14th, 2024 via social media that the federal government is seeking feedback from First Nations reserves about the Additions to Reserve process.
Additions to Reserve refers to the process to either add land to an existing reserve, or create a new reserve.
Along with the post from SNEC was an invitation from the Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) lands and resources to community members to join an information session about the process.
At the information session, SNEC council says community members can learn about the current process, discuss issues and possible solutions and provide community feedback. The information session will take place on March 20th along with a free dinner at 1738 4th at the Six Nations Community Hall at 5:00 pm.
