Pointe-Saint-Charles is one step closer to getting a larger, more modern library. On Monday, the City of Montreal announced the winners of their design contest for the Saint-Charles library redevelopment.
The winning team, Lapointe Magne & Associés + L’OEUF Architectes in collaboration with VINCI Consultants / L2C Experts / Dupras Ledoux, put forward a design that will preserve the heritage fire station the existing library is located in, but expand to offer more space and a new slate of services. The library will also be renamed after Éva Circé-Côté, one of Montreal’s first librarians.
CKUT spoke to Craig Sauvé, councillor for Saint-Henri-Est-Petite-Bourgogne-Pointe-Saint-Charles-Griffintown, about what citizens can expect from the project.
