A review of New Brunswick’s strategy to battle poverty is underway, and the Southeast Regional Service Commission is hosting a series of public meetings to gather input from New Brunswickers.
The consultations start tonight at the Church by the Lake in Middle Sackville.
“We need everyone to come and give us their opinion and advice,” says the commission’s Marc André Chiasson. “It’s so important that people come and tell us what they see, what they hear, what they live, so that we can build on that.”
Moving Forward Together Cooperative volunteer Wendy Keats has participated in past reviews of the province’s Overcoming Poverty Together plan, and says the input gathered has made its way into government policies and programs over the years. This year Keats will be calling for investment in a universal healthy school lunch program in the province.
