A world-renowned five-piece band called “Payadora Tango Ensemble” will be taking the stage of the Gorge Hall for the first time on March 20. The band has been touring Europe, Brazil, and Argentina over the past year, now making several stops in BC.
The ensemble is receiving accolades for their third album Silent Tears: The Last Yiddish Tango and sharing stories of Holocaust survivors in Canada.
“We’re going to be going to Germany to a big world music festival where we’re getting an award for it,” Founder of Payadora Rebekah Wolkstein said.
The group won’t be performing songs from that album on this tour, but they will be sharing music Wolkstein wrote for a musical in the making.
