Mount Allison student and entrepreneur Arianna Roach is gearing up to launch her new project, ARIS Nightclub, this summer. The bar will be a safe and inclusive space for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Moncton.
Roach says she came up with the idea after seeing promotion for a pitch competition put on by Venture Space Mt A in her first year. When organizers told her all she needed was an idea, she asked herself what was missing in her community.
“I just turned 19,” recalls Roach, “and I was looking for bars to go to for myself.” And with the closure of Moncton’s last gay bar in 2021, there was clearly a gap to be filled. “I took that idea and rolled with that,” says Roach.
