Overnight arts festival Nuit Blanche typically gives Montreal nightlife venues a winter boost. But one Montreal bar owner says he lost out on revenue because of unnecessary competition from urban ski and snowboarding festival APIK.
APIK placed a pop-up bar in front of Rue St-Denis’ Turbo Haüs all last weekend – including Saturday’s Nuit Blanche. Bar owner Sergio Da Silva says the planning behind these festivals needs to change.
APIK and TRIBU declined to give comment to CKUT but SDC Quartier Latin Managing Director Rachel Van Velzen responded with a statement.
