Environmental Studies students on UNBC’s Prince George Campus are looking at ways to engage the public in their immediate environment.
To help them achieve this goal, they led the first of two accessibility audits on February 27th. The data collected on the audit, and its associated survey, will be presented March 26th.
The ENVS 326 class split into a number of groups looking at ways of engaging the public in different environments, natural or built.
Joel Ewert, a student enrolled in the class, says of the target audience, “I think we’re hoping that some decision makers around UNBC will see this data and be able to look at it and see that accessibility is not where it needs to be here on campus and hopefully we can help spark that change and help to create a barrier free environment.”
