There were a couple of crown land applications during Monday night’s public Corner Brook council meeting. One resident on Dunbar has lived there for years but was notified by the Crown that he needed to apply for the land. It falls under what ‘s commonly called “squatters rights” which means he is entitled to the land since he’s lived there for decades. The other crown lands application concerned a request to use land for an ATV trail in an area near Little Cook’s Pond. CKVB News attended the council meeting and filed a report.
