A national data report by medical wait time aggregate Medimap finds that wait times for walk-in clinics has almost doubled from the previous year.
The report, The Walk-in Clinic Wait Time Index, was released Feb. 21.
In Ontario, the average wait time sits at 59 minutes which is up from the 2022 wait of 25 minutes. This increase is also reflected in Toronto which now sits at a 72 minute wait time for a walk-in clinic.
Compared to other provinces, Ontario is fifth in wait times with British Columbia at first with an average of 93 minutes. Toronto’s average time is at sits at fourth for cities, with first place being held by North Vancouver with an average wait time of 187 minutes.
Thomas Jankowski, CEO of Medimaps, says that with the disappearance of family doctors in Ontario, these wait times are only going to increase.
