With Valentine’s Day approaching, many are getting into relationships, breaking up, or —in Vinoo Dayal’s case — moving onto the next chapter of life.
In his last year as a board member with the Windsor Regional hospital, Vinoo Dayal decided to organize a Valentine’s Day Garba Fundraiser for the community. The fundraiser aims to provide the Windsor Regional Hospital with an additional transport ventilator, but also give the community a fun night.
The event will be from 6pm to 1am on Saturday, February 17. Themed after South Asian culture, the event will feature dances (Gharba, Bollywood, Bhangra, etc.,), Mumbai street food, and plenty of music. Vinoo Dayal hopes that the event can help South Asian international students feel more comfortable, while also supporting a good cause.
On February 15, CJAM spoke with Vinoo Dayal, the event organizer, to learn more about the event and its impact on the community.
