Nelson author Melanie Maure has received a publication deal in Canada and the US from HarperCollins for her first book Sisters of Belfast. Maure is an Irish Canadian who was born and raised in Ontario. She now resides in Nelson.
Sisters of Belfast tells the story of orphaned twin sisters in Ireland who deal with their traumatic upbringing in different ways. One relocates to Newfoundland, while the other stays in Ireland to become a nun.
Maure will be hosting two events in Nelson to promote the book. The first is at the Nelson Public Library on Feb. 28. The second event is at Notably Book Store on March 8.
She will then continue the promotion with a tour to Kelowna, Ontario and New York. Sisters of Belfast is available for purchase on Feb. 27.
