The Smithers Chamber of Commerce is pulling out all the stops with this year’s Community and Business Excellence Awards Gala.
Sheena Miller, the Chamber’s Executive Director described the purpose of the awards ceremony as a way to celebrate the people who make Smithers the vibrant community it is.
“It’s not just business and entrepreneurs. It’s actually service groups and volunteers that drive the community and drive the economy,” Miller told CICK. “So much of what happens that makes Smithers incredible is actually on the back of volunteers. And that’s something that’s really neat. But the cool relationship is that the business community drives that, they support local so that our volunteers can do what they do best.”
Nominations are still open for this year’s awards recipients. If you want to nominate someone in business for the work they do, use this form. Nominations are open until Monday, February 12th.
